All graduates and parents who have attended TSC are encouraged to stay in touch by becoming a member of our Alumni Association. Being a member of the Alumni means you will be invited to reunions and Shepherd Centre events. You will receive newsletters and updates on TSC and on developments within this field. It is a great way to find out what old friends and associates are up to.

Past Families Alumni groups in Canberra & Roseville, 2011!

These groups will support current families, and extend the supportive community created by The Shepherd Centre for current children as they grow and move on, and also provide ways to reconnect with past families at their local centre.

We plan to run activities for past & present children and families so they can:

• Join our ‘Buddy’ program where:
• older children mentor younger ones currently at The Shepherd Centre,
• past families can mentor families who are in transition from The Shepherd Centre to ‘big’ school, and beyond.
• Participate in activities for parents so that they can also have some fun, support each other and raise awareness of the issues they face as parents of a child with hearing loss.

As families move on from The Shepherd Centre through different stages of primary and high school, social & friendships, careers & job seeking, university, that they can receive information about:
• Technology updates
• Speakers, special events, and networking
• Milestones & Developmental Panel Sessions
• School holiday playgroups
• Mentoring
